Water Conservation
The water conservation plan will be available for public review and comment until June 1st, 2009. A printed copy is also available for review at the District office.
The District strongly recommends that all residents practice water conservation. Following are some web sites that offer water conservation tips: Some easy ways to save water are: Take a shower rather than a bath. When brushing your teeth, only have water on when you need to rinse. If you want a drink of cold water, keep an old milk jug in the refrigerator filled with water. This way you always have quick cold water without running the tap and waiting for the water to cool. ![]() Install toilets that have a higher water efficiency than some of the older models. If you don't want to actually install a new toilet, there is a quick and very cost feasible solution. Stop by our main office and pick up a complimentary water conservation kit. It has a water saving toilet displacement bag that is easy to install in the toilet tank. The water conservation kit also includes non-toxic dye tablets that allow you to test for leaks in your toilet, a shower restrictor and a faucet restrictor. Both of the restrictors are easy to install and they can save you lots of water. The following link contains a table of water usage for some every day activities. It shows some great ways to save some water. |
